Best Homemade Snacks For the Christmas Vacation

The Christmas vacation is almost here, we have a week left, and what we are going to do during the vacation: relax! I really need to stay on the cozy couch, to watch a nice movie or to read a great book, while drinking nice warm tea. I can’t wait this moment to come. But there is something else that keeps popping in my head – the food. When you are at home, having too much free time you can make yourself some homemade snacks, for the movie tonight or just like that – for fun. Take a look at my favorite homemade snacks and I hope they will become your favorite ones too:

Frozen Yogurt dots

This is a light snack, the yogurt is delicious and leaves a refreshing feeling in your body. See how to make yourself those adorable and tasteful frozen yogurt dots: Fill in a plastic bag with the yogurt you love. Put the bag in a glass and wrap the top of the glass with it, it will be easier for you to fill in the bag. When you are done with the pouring, cut a small piece from one of the bag’s corners. Start piping the dots (choose the size according to your preferences) on a parchment paper laid over a cookie sheet. Then place the sheet in the freezer and let them frozen for a couple of hours. Enjoy your fresh and fruity froze yogurt chips.

Homemade fruity jellies

Some will say that jelly beans are for kids, but I won’t listen to other people and I’ll eat whatever I want and desire. And right now I want some fruity jellies. Take a look at the easy instruction for making those deli treats: You will need six 1/4 ounce envelopes of unflavored gelatin and 2/3 cup of 100% any kind of fruit juice. The flavor is your decision. Use a small saucepan and pour in it the juice and the gelatin. Turn the heat to low level and stir until the gelatin melts. Then pour the jelly mixture in a flat glass pan and set aside to cool down. Once cooled to room temperature, place in fridge for about an hour. Then remove from the glass pan (use a knife or spatula to remove it easier) and place on cutting board. Cut small shapes with your metal cookie cutters or with a knife. Eat right away or store them in the fridge. Enjoy the taste of the childhood!

Mini pizzas

Well, that’s the easiest one. You will need only some tortilla flour for burritos and your favorite ingredients for the topping. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and brush the cups of the muffin tin with melted butter, or spritz with nonstick spray. Cut out of the tortilla flour the mini pizzas with an empty can. Then top the mini pizzas with your favorite ingredients and bake for 10-12 minutes. Serve while hot.

These are my suggestions for lazy afternoon treats. I can’t wait to have a little bit more spare time to experiment with my cooking skills. Have jolly holidays and lovely moments with your friends and family. See you soon!
