Let’s talk about sweet escapes. In that category, the chocolate souffle will fit perfectly. Don’t wait until the next pay check to go to that nice restaurant where the souffle is prepared so well that you are even eager to skip the dinner, so the dessert time will come faster. You can learn how to make a chocolate souffle all by yourself at home. Just write down this easy recipe and try to make it. If you are satisfied with the result you can save the recipe and pamper yourself once in a while.

The ingredients:

You will need a lump of unsalted butter for the baking dish, let it warm up until it reaches a room temperature.

1/4 cup sugar and a few pinches more for the baking dish.

8 ounces semisweet chocolate. Chop it finely. An alternative chocolate product can be the chocolate chips. Use 1 cup of them.

To enhance the flavor, you will need some vanilla extract. One teaspoon will be enough.

You will need also 3 large egg yolks and 4 large egg whites. Beat them lightly.

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar.

Cooking time:

Turn on the oven and preheat it up to 350 degrees. While you wait, you can prepare the products.

You will need a 1 1/2-quart tall-sided baking dish. Apply a thin layer of butter and sugar. Shake it upside down so the excess sugar will fall down. Set the prepared dish on a rimmed baking sheet.

Now melt the chocolate over a steam. Add to the chocolate also the vanilla extract and 1/4 cup water. Stir until the ingredients mix together perfectly and the chocolate melts smoothly. That procedure will take about 10 minutes. Set aside and let it cool to room temperature, 20 minutes tops.

Once the chocolate mixture is cool enough, stir the beaten egg yolks into the mixture and combine them well. That’s your souffle base, set it aside.

Beat up the egg whites with a mixer, one by one add the cream of tartar and the sugar. Beat that mixture until you reach stiff consistency. Mix them no more than 5 minutes.

Pour the egg-white mixture into the souffle base and stir really gently with rubber spatula. Lift and cut until you get a smooth mixture.

Transfer the mixture into the baking dishes and with the spatula or a knife even out the top. Bake it in the preheated oven until it puff, for about 30 minutes.

Serve it immediately, enjoy!
