The Best Tricks for Bold, Beautiful Lashes

It is no coincidence that mascara is one of the most popular makeup products in the world: adding a bit of length, volume and color to your eye lashes can change your whole face’s appearance! The power of beautiful lashes should never be underestimated. Also, there is a common understanding that men are attracted to long eye lashes. We girls know that usually men do not notice small details in our appearance (how often does your boyfriend notice you have cut your hair or tried a new blush, for example?), but on a subconscious level, it is possible for you to be more eye-catching with bold lashes. So besides using an eyelash curler and mascara, what else can you do to make them look better?

  • First of all, it is a great idea to powder your lashes. Use an eye shadow brush or whatever brush is comfortable for you and dab your lashes with a finely milled loose powder. Baby powder can also do the trick! Apply it after your first coat of mascara and then put some more on your lashes. Powder creates a good base on them, so that the next coat of mascara can be even bolder and make the lashes ticker.
  • Secondly, you can give some new life to your mascara if it is getting old and starting to feel a little dry (still, remember to get a new mascara every three months since it can gather a lot of bacteria and cause infection of your eyes!) by adding a few drops of saline solution to it and placing the sealed tube in a container with very warm water. The solution will revive the formula which is becoming flaky and the warmth is going to loosen up the product. You will notice that application is a lot smoother after using this method!
  • Also, in order to reach tiny, thin hairs in your lashes, you can bend the brush so that it is almost perpendicular to the want itself. The hairs in the lashes will be more easily accessible and your look can get more lifted.
  • The next trick involves something very simple: using your finger! When you are applying mascara to your upper lashes, press your eyelid, in order for the lashes to pop enough so that the wand can reach their roots.
  • Last, you can look down at the mirror as opposed to putting it straight in front of you. That way you will be able to see a lot better, and you will not apply any mascara on your eyelids!
