Which Food Make Us Happy

Stress is a serious problem for many people. At some point each of us falls into a bad mood or anxiety and then we often run to the pharmacy for drugs that suppress or soothe the stress and the depression. Next time you are in a bad mood, try using food as therapy! Here are some of the foods that will not only enhance your mood, but also will help your health.

Start your day with milk

Milk contains tryptophan and increases serotonin levels which often leads to a better mood. Milk is an antioxidant which helps neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals on neurotransmitters in the brain. Milk also contains vitamins B12 and D, necessary for coping with stress.

Eat dark chocolate

A few bites of dark chocolate are everything you need to feel better. Theo bromine and phenyl ethylamine are the two key biochemical substances in dark chocolate that cause a feeling of joy and help raise the level of endorphins in the body. So, next time you feel sad and stressed, just add some dark chocolate to your menu and you‘ll feel better in no time!

Eat a small amount of nuts

Nuts, especially walnuts and almonds, are recommended for those who often suffer from feelings of anxiety and concern. They are rich in rare minerals, such as selenium and omega-3 fatty acids that are necessary for the brain to withstand stress. Omega-3 fatty acids are often included in the “brain food” because they keep people healthy and free from stress.

Bananas – one of the richest sources of complex carbohydrates. Unlike synthetic or artificial sugar that will instantly increase blood sugar and appetite, bananas give you energy for a long time. They are rich in tryptophan which is required for creation of serotonin, which is often referred to as “hormone of good mood.”

The high content of caffeine in coffee can easily improve your mood. Caffeine can be found in dark chocolate which, like we said, is a key product if you want better mood. However, if you overdose, it can have a negative impact on our well-being and make you nervous and restless. Therefore, you shouldn‘t drink more than 2-3 cups a day.

Grapes and oranges

Grapes and oranges are also foods that lift mood. Grapes contain large amounts of vitamin C, natural sugars, potassium and antioxidants like polyphenols. Oranges and grapes are full of vitamin C and antioxidants such as flavonoids. Especially in winter, be sure to eat at least one of the two fruits a day to keep your mood high!
